[CIVIL WAR, UNION, 18TH ILLINOIS, BROWNSVILLE, TENNESSEE A.L.S. A four page manuscript letter signed by Captain Henry S. Wilson, Aide de Camp, Headquarters and Brigade, 1st Division, Brownsville, Tenn. and dated 9th August 1862. To T.N. Stone, Yreka Cal. in reply to a letter from Stone to Captain Wilson of 30th May. The correspondent writes about recent Scouting forays during which... "We encountered several companies of Rebels, killing and capturing some and completely routing the Main forces. E150/200 Note: Captain Wilson survived the war and is mentioned in the Adjutant General's Report of the 18th Illinois Regiment. He was a member of a group of volunteers known collectively as the "Shawnee Boys".
