E1200- 1800 Note: The artist studied under Hans Hoffman in Munich 1925-1927 and Diego Rivera in Mexico. Exhibited: The Cleveland Museum of Art, 11th Annual Exhibition of Cleveland Artists and Craftsman, April 24 to June 2, 1929, (also known as "The May Show" which Deike exhibited in every year from 1919 to 1959 and The Women's Art Club of Cleveland Exhibition, February 24, 1932 Labels en verso: both exhibition labels the Artist's personal label, the framer's label, and a museum inventory number (TR: 2582/21). Note: This painting was chosen for the cover of the 'Bulletin of the Garden Center of Greater Cleveland" : 'This month we have chosen for our cover a painting by Clara Deike, a Cleveland artist of distinction...
