Clémentine Buchère Martin (French, 1819-1873), "Bleeding Hearts and Blue Trumpets", watercolor on vellum, Christie's label and artist information en verso, sight 20 in. x 16 in., framed Note: Clémentine Buchère was a student of Pierre-Joseph Redouté; she primarily worked in watercolor and exhibited in both Paris and Dijon. Her "brilliant debut" at the Paris Salon was noted in the 1840 Journal des Artistes and her work was described as "composed with great taste" in Paris' Le Ménestrel of April 19, 1840.
