Samuel Jelly, Sacramento, act. 1849-1880, by Gorham, c. 1855-1860, marked "Samuel Jelly", "COIN", "35" and with Gorham trademark; cann form with medallion of California State Seal, and reverse with medallion inscribed "AWARDED by THE CALIFORNIA STATE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY", height 3 1/4 in., weight 3.55 troy ozs Note: The California State Agricultural Society was established in 1852 and held its first Agricultural Exposition in San Francisco in 1854. It was moved to Sacramento in 1859.
