Batt. B. 53rd D.F.A."; German identification tag marked "Max Kasper, Helfenberb. b. Dresden". Provenance: Gaspar Cusachs, entrepreneur, historian and collector, (1855-1929), collected by his son, Joachim Cusachs (1893-1918), while serving in Europe during WWI; The Gaspar Cusachs Collection, loaned to the Louisiana State Museum, New Orleans, LA (c. 1918-2016).
