Continental School, 18th Century in the manner of Claude Vernet ( French, 1714-1789), 'Fishermen Leaving a Rocky Cove by Moonlight', oil on canvas, unsigned (but re-stretched and possibly cut down), now 7.25 in. x 10.25 in., in an antique giltwood frame. E800-1200 Provenance: Purchased by LSU Professor Edwin A. Davis and his artist wife LaVerna Rowe Davis, in Great Britain c. 1960s.
