Diego Rivera (Mexican, 1886-1957), "Campesino Mother and Children, with Dog", drawing on sheet of tablet paper, signed lower left, 7 in. x 51-2 in. (18 cm. x 14 cm.), handsomely matted, in a modern giltwood panel frame. E3000-5000 Note: Energetically drawn with a wide pencil, deeply into a pad or tablet behind (and with the same lead as that in the signature), this forceful drawing was evidently long kept as a studio property, to judge by its spots of blue pigment on the obverse as well as larger deposits of umber, orange and yellow paints on reverse.
