Dwight Clark Shepler (American, b. 1905), "Flowering Cacti", oil on canvas, signed lower right, 12 in. x 14 in., in a period giltwood frame. E150/250 Note: Massachusetts's artist, Dwight Clark Shepler earned a national recognition as an artist during World War II. The Navy implemented a program where artist-soldiers were sent to combat zones and painted there first hand experiences. After the war, Shepler exhibited his paintings at National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C., National Academy of Design and Guild Boston Artists.
