Guibet New Orleans Presentation Artillery Saber, Thomas, Griswold & Co., New Orleans, blade etched with "US", spreadwing eagle, military trophys and foliate designs, original scabbard with foliate mounts, silver plaque with rope-form brass border, and engraved "Presented to/ Capt. E.A. Guibet/ by Battery C/ La Field Artillery/ as a Memento of Sept 14, 1874/ and Jan. 9, 1877", overall length 38 1/4 in Provenance: Descended in the family of Etienne Achille Guibet (1840, France - 1878, New Orleans) Reference: Albaugh III, William A.
