Ellsworth Woodward (American/New Orleans, 1861-1939), "The Blue Tree" oil on board, initialled "E.W." lower left, with still life en verso 8.125in. x 11.625in. E5000/7000 Note: "The Blue Tree" is part of a series of paintings that Ellsworth Woodward created between 1900 and 1920. There is a similar painting in the Laura Simon Nelson Collection at The Historic New Orleans Collection. The two paintings show the same bush, tree and buildings in the background, but from slightly different vantage points.
