Emerson Bell (American/Louisiana, 1932-2006), "Prophet West", oil on paper, signed and titled lower center, sight 12 in. x 5 1/2 in. E400- 600 Provenance: Purchased from the artist in 1996. Note: African- American artist Emerson Bell first began to create art when he was in high school in Baton Rouge. Largely a self-taught artist, Bell did take classes in drafting and design. A sculptor, painter and printmaker, his work was exhibited in 1991 at New Orleans Museum of Art and earned the Louisiana Arts Ambassador Award.
