Darling, April 24, 1938. E1800-2400 Note: Erasmus Humbrecht settled in New Orleans in 1872 and became established as a painter of interiors of cathedrals and churches. Soon after his arrival in the city, Humbrecht was commissioned to paint fresco murals for St. Louis Cathedral; twenty years later, he was commissioned to restore and replace several of the murals in the cathedral.
