Frederic Sackrider Remington (American, 1861-1909), "Calvary Rider", pen and ink on board, signed lower left, with a preparatory sketch of a cowboy hat and pencil inscriptions "S non-" and "791/1-1" en verso, with an "Attal Galleries" label en verso, 8 1/2 in. x 2 3/4 in., matted and frame.

- Notes: Note: The artist, justly acknowledged as one of the finest draftsmen of Western subjects, is here represented by a small but masterly sketch of a single mounted figure, seen against the railings of a barbed wire fence.
