Gabor Gergo (Hungary/New Orleans, 1933-), "Owl", terra cotta sculpture, height 41 in., width 18 in., depth 5 in. E600/900 Note: With the outbreak of the Hungarian Revolution, the young art student,Gabor Gergo immigrated to America from Budapest. Gergo continued his studies at the Cleveland Institute of Art and received a M.F.A. from Newcomb Art School. Upon graduating, he taught in Newcomb's ceramic department from 1964 to 1968. Gergo's work is characterized by the merging of ceramics with sculptural forms.
