Miles, March 18th, 1850", stepped foot with floral repoussé and egg and dart banding, height 5 1/4 in., weight 5.65 troy ozs Provenance: Descended in the family of Confederate General William R. Miles of Mileston, Mississippi and New Orleans. Theus Norvelle Miles was born in 1850, and married Alice Herrick of New Orleans. They made their home in Alexandria, LA where Miles was a prominent cotton factor.
