George Frederick Castleden (British/Louisiana, 1861-1945), "Cabildo Courtyard with the St. Louis Cathedral Steeple", oil on canvas affixed to board, signed lower left, 14 in. x 9 5/8 in., framed Note: In the 1920s, British born artist George Castleden was among the artists and writers living and working in the French Quarter, a peroid now known as the French Quarter Renaissance. Castleden had a studio at 622 St. Peters Street and opened a daily outdoor gallery of his work in the courtyard of the Cabildo.
