Here, framed within the oak trees and foliage of Acadiana, the seated crawfish salesman with direct gaze peddles his crawfish and rice to passersby and viewers The vivid color palette of this Cajun painting offered here, with its considerable brightening from Rodrigue’s earlier works is most likely a direct result of Rodrigue simultaneously painting the early Blue Dog series the achieved international success.
