Grace Luse (American/Ohio, 20th c.), "Terminal Tower, Cleveland, Ohio", oil on canvas, signed lower right and en verso, 18 in. x 14 in., unframed.
- Notes: Note: Grace Luse, a WPA sculptor from Cleveland, worked under Edris Eckhardt in 1938-39, helping to run her studio when Eckhardt was out of town and supervising the firing and glazing. Luse also created a series of family groups in ceramic during this time period. Although painting was not her typical medium, Luse's handling of the paint in a flat and modernist manner befits the composition and subject matter she has chosen - that of Terminal Tower in Luse's hometown of Cleveland.
