Newton Talbot (1815-1904) was a prominent Boston businessman and member of the church who also served as a trustee of Universalists-founded Tufts College from 1868 to 1904. Talbot published The Flag of Our Union, a weekly featuring works by Louisa May Alcott and Edgar Allen Poe.
