Harold G. Cureau, Sr. (American/Louisiana, 1920-1998), "Hunting Party", 1975, oil, acrylic, and mixed media on slate and wood panel, signed and dated lower right, label en verso with title, 19 7/8 in. x 15 in., framed; accompanied by a letter from the artist Note: Harold G. Cureau, Sr. served as Professor of Art and Chairman of Southern University Fine Arts Department in Baton Rouge from 1960 to 1985. Born in Reserve, Cureau was raised in New Orleans and attended Dillard University and Indiana University. As an educator, he wrote scholarly articles on Louisiana and African American artists.
