Helen Hunt Bencker Hoie (American/Massachusetts, 20th c., act. New Orleans, 1930-1940), works on paper, c. 1930-1933, incl. 5 watercolor holiday cards, ink and pencil drawings, watercolors of landscapes, a Geisha and portrait of a woman, assorted design projects and 2 lithographs; together with 2 lithographic plates, some signed, titled and/or inscribed, several stamped "Carnegie Institute of Technology, Department of Painting and Decoration, Judged", 4 3/4 in. x 5 3/4 in. to 12 1/2 in. x 15 1/4 in., unframed. (approx. 33 pcs.) Note: Helen Hunt Bencker Hoie was an artist who worked in New Orleans in the early 20th century. She created both paintings and lithographs of New Orleans scenes during and after her studies at the Carnegie Institute of Technology. This charming collection represents a unique look at her artistic development and early career.
