  • Notes: Note: Born in Brooklyn, New York, Lasker studied at the Cooper Union Art School. In 1950 he was named a top young artist by Life magazine. Aside from painting, Lasker was a political activist and renowned children's book illustrator. His works have been on exhibition in many prominent shows and collections including The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Corcoran Gallery and the Hirshhorn Museum. Brown and Yellow House represents vintage Americana, with light filtering through the trees onto the slumbering family dog, while the residents take reprieve on the stoop.
