John B. Gasquet (American-Louisiana, 1892-1981), 'Shadows on the Teche', vintage silver gelatin photograph, signed lower right, sight 18 in. x 13.75 in., in an antique frame. E600-900 Note: John B. Gasquet was the state photographer for several gubernatorial administrations including Jimmie Davis and Earl Long. Among his most famous images are photographs of bullet-riddled bodies of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrows after their ambush in Bienville Parish. He also photographed Jack Dempsey, Charles Lindbergh, Babe Ruth and Charles Lindbergh. The vintage photograph of Shadows on the Teche was taken in the 1940s. At that time Weeks Hall was in the midst of having the property established a national landmark. Today it is a National Trust Historic Site.
