Joseph Hirsch (American, 1910-1981), "New Caladonia", watercolor on paper, signed and titled en verso, sight, 8.75in. x 11.75in. E400/600 Note: Born and educated in Philadelphia, Joseph Hirsch was an accomplished painter, muralist, illustrator and printmaker. During World War II, Hirsch was an artist and correspondent for the U.S. Navy. Stationed in the South Pacific, Asia and Italy, he created a series of paintings and drawings.
