E400/600 Note: Joseph Hirsch was an accomplished painter, muralist, illustrator and printmaker. During World War II, Hirsch served as an artist and correspondent for the U.S. Navy. Stationed in the South Pacific, Africa and Italy, he created a series of paintings and drawings. This watercolor represents Hirsch's work during this period.
