Joseph 'Pops' Woodson Whitesell (American/New Orleans, 1876-1959), 'Margaret Has The Floor', vintage silver gelatin print, unsigned, hand written artist label, 'The Photographic Guild of Detroit Honor Print' label and 'Bayou Country Camera Club' label en verso, sight 14 .5in. x 18 .5in. Note: Wife of New Orleans artist Wayman Adams, and an artist herself, Margaret dominates the conversation and focus of this Pops Whitesell photograph. Whitesell, who is seated in the lower left, often included himself in his tableau photographs. The two oil portraits of Whitesell seen on the wall of the studio are currently in the collection of the Louisiana State Museum.
