Note: Meteorologist Dr Isaac Monroe Cline (1861-1955) was an early collector of American and Louisiana paintings, who served as honorary curator of the Louisiana State Museum Cline was instrumental in providing to the local newspaper updates and warnings about the imminent Mississippi River Flood of 1927 With his interest in art it is no surprise that Dr Cline became acquainted with the French Quarter photographer Pops Whitesell Whitesell photographed many of the artists, writers and luminaries of the French Quarter during the mid twentieth century.
