K. Doyle Ford (American, 1910-1993), "Landscape with Mountains", oil on canvas, signed lower left, sight 17.25in. x 23.25in. E400-600 Provenance: Estate of the Artist. Note: K. Doyle Ford was a noted Southern portraitist who maintained studios in Memphis, New York City and Jacksonville, Fl. She was a protege of Howard Chandler Christy, a colleague of Alphaeus Cole, Ivan Olinsky, and Gertrude Fosdick, and a member of the National Arts Club of New York, Audubon of New York, and New York Pen and Brush. The paintings offered here represent some of the artist's favorites, depicting her travels across the country and Mexico, as well as studio still lifes.
