Louis Gabriel Sicard (American-New Orleans, 1897-1990), 'Mountainous Landscape', oil on canvas, signed lower right, 24 in. x 30 in., in a period frame. E400-600 Note: Born in Amarillo, Texas, Louis Sicard studied at Newcomb College with Ellsworth Woodward. By the mid-1950s, Sicard had settled in Shreveport and become an active member of the local art community. While in Shreveport, he received numerous commissions for the Southwestern Electric Power Company, Selber Brothers and Louisiana State Exhibition Museum. Sicard was an organizer of the Louisiana Artists Inc. and Shreveport Art Club.
