Louisiana School, 19th c., a pair of portraits, "Jacob Haight Morrison" and "Mrs. Jacob Haight Morrison, nee Corinne Landry", oil on canvas, unsigned, 34 in. x 26 in., matching period giltwood frames E6000/8000 Note: Jacob Haight Morrison (1818-1875) settled in Pointe Coupee Parish, married Corinne Landry of Donaldsonville and built Brunswick Plantation. Corinne Landry was the daughter of Louis Landry and Carmelite Vives of Donaldsonville. Her maternal grandfather Don Juan Vives, was one of the first Spanish Doctors of Medicine to come to Louisiana. After Corinne's premature death, Jacob married her cousin Virginia Seghers of Donaldsonville. They maintained a residence in New Orleans at 711 Bourbon Street in the French Quarter.
