E400-600 Provenance: Albania Plantation, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. Note: Born in Simmesport, Louisiana, Lucius LaCour worked as a commercial artist and cartoonist. His cartoon strip "Placide and the Cajuns" which dealt with the trials and tribulations of life in Southern Louisiana was syndicated in over twenty-three newspapers and magazines. A friend of Emily Cyr Bridges, LaCour lived as artist-in-residence at Albania Plantation. Ella Fontenot Keane studied art in Florence, Italy and taught art in New Iberia for many years.
