Frothingham (American, mid-19th c.), "Queen Katherine of Aragon, Consort of King Henry VIII of England, Replying with Spirit to the Charges of Cardinals Wolsey and Capeius", monumental needlepoint composition, signed and dated "1872" (?) at lower right, height 50 in. width 46 in., in oak frame with gilded plaster trim. E300-500 Note: Frame displays a contemporary brass label-plate with full iconographic information, which quotes a moving exchange of dialogue between Her Majesty and Cardinal Wolsey.
