A Directoire-Style Mahogany and Burled Table de Jeu, 20th c., branded "Durand, Paris", possibly for Pierre Durand, removable inset leather top with baize underside, case enclosing inlaid backgammon playing surface, paneled frieze with two drawers, tapered fluted legs, brass ferrules, height 29 in., width 44 in., depth 23 1/2 in Note: Pierre Durand was part of a dynasty of 19th and 20th c. French furniture makers. He was trained by his father, Frédéric-Louis, who was an apprentice to the well-known Gervais-Maximilien-Eugène Durand.
