[Mardi Gras], the Charles C. Crawford (1884-1977) album of Mardi Gras memorabilia, gilt-tooled brown leather, containing numerous photographs and newspaper clippings related to Rex, the Mistick Krewe of Comus, Twelfth Night Revelers, the Krewe of Proteus and the Mystic Club; notably featuring Crawford's 1953 reign as Rex with his Queen, Adelaide Wisdom; other monarchs include Comus, 1946 with Queen Harriott Phelps, Comus, 1948; Proteus, 1952 with Queen Edwina Mae Saunders; Twelfth Night, 1937, with Queen Jessie Janvier; and Mystic, 1946, with Queen Flora Fenner; also included are photographs from numerous Kings' Dinners as well as an artist proof of Pops Whitesell's iconic image of Crawford as "Jester at Atlanteans".

- Notes: Note: Crawford's Estate donated his collection of Mardi Gras costumes to the Louisiana State Museum including his King's costumes from Atlanteans, Mystic, Twelfth Night Revelers, and Rex, as well as dozens of his ball and float costumes from as early as the 1920s and the famous jester costume seen in the Whitesell photograph. It is considered the most important collection of costumes at the Louisiana State Museum.
