Mildred Nungester Wolfe (American/Mississippi, 1912-2009), "Morning on Royal Street", c. 1960s, oil on masonite, signed lower left, "Edgewater Gulf Hotel" label and handwritten inscriptions relating to its sale en verso, 15 1/2 in. x 24 in., period Wolfe Studios frame Provenance: Previously in the Collection of Leigh Barrett Latimer. Acquired by Leigh Barrett Latimer during an exhibition at the legendary Edgewater Gulf Hotel in Biloxi, Mississippi. Leigh Barrett Latimer was a pioneer woman in the oil industry as well as a supporter and advocate of the arts which included the Jackson Symphony League, Mississippi Museum of Art, Woodland Garden Club. She was also one of the organizers of Allison's Art Colony at Allison's Wells Hotel in Way, MS.
