Millard Owen Sheets (American, 1907-1989), "Burma: Two Girls Washing Clothes", watercolor on paper, signed and titled lower left, sight 8. 75in. x 11.5in. E1000/1500 Note: California artist Millard Sheets earned a national reputation for his work in watercolors. In 1930 he gained attention when his work was accepted for the prestigious Carnegie Institute's International Exhibition of Paintings. During World War II, he served as an artist reporter for Life magazine in Burma and India during 1943 and 1944.
