Misbach (French School, late 18th/early 19th c.), "A Muscular Male Nude Positioned Frontally, His Raised Arms Grasping Posing Straps", 1792, black chalk and stumping (a technique of blending chalk lines into tonal gradations) on off-white laid paper with watermark DFG, unsigned, verso inscribed with effaced words in pencil, overwritten with others in brown ink, "Nettoyer / figure de[?] Place[?] / ...d'un homme-12 Mars 1792", 23 3/8 in. x 18 1/5 in., with 1 1/2 in. x 1 7/8 in. paper addition for the right hand (2 3/4 in. from left end of top edge), unmounted.
