Morris Henry Hobbs (American/New Orleans, 1892-1967), 'A Royal St. Patio, New Orleans', etching, pencil-signed and titled, numbered 60- 110, dated in plate '1938', printed label from Arthur J. Olsen, President of Permo Products Corp. en verso, plate 13 in. x 9 in. E200 400 Note: This etching of artist Alberta Kinsey's French Quarter courtyard proved be particularly successful for Hobbs. The print was exhibited at the Annual Exhibition of Chicago Society of Etchers, and won a prize at the 38th Annual Exhibition of the Art Association of New Orleans and received honorable mention award at the Southern Printmakers Society. Hobbs initially became involved with Arthur Olsen when the Permo Products Corporation manufactured in 1936 a small portable print press Hobbs invented. Olsen published the 'A Royal St. Patio' as a Christmas gift to select clients.
