Description:

Morris Henry Hobbs (American/New Orleans, 1892-1967), "Bromeliad and Bluebirds", watercolor on paper, signed lower left, sight 20 in. x 14in. E2500/3500 Note: By 1953, Morris Henry Hobbs began to move away from his distinguished career as a printmaker. He felt watercolor renderings gave him the freedom to accurately depict the colors of theplants. Typically Hobbs would add birds, butterflies and small animalsto his paintings of bromeliads.
