Description:

Morris Henry Hobbs (American/New Orleans, 1892-1967), 'Landscape from MacDowell Colony Dining Room, New Hampshire', oil on canvas, signed lower left, 20 in. x 27 in., in a period frame. Note: In 1944 and 1945, Morris Henry Hobbs and his wife Alice joined the MacDowell Art Colony in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Nestled in 600 acres of forest the MacDowell Art Colony, which still thrives today, is a retreat where artists, writers and composers gather in the summer months to find a creative and supportive environment.
