New Orleans Rococo Mahogany Armoire, mid-19th c., beaded cornice, ogee frieze, mirrored door within molded frame, vasiform and barley-twist stiles, ogee base drawer, scrolled bracket feet, h. 100 1/4 in., w. 58 in., d. 25 1/4 in. Provenance: Descended in the Miltenberger Family, New Orleans Garden District. Note: The distinctive vasiform and twist stiles on this armoire, and the washstand in the following lot, are similar to those on a bedside commode from Prudent Mallard for the bedroom of Isabel Puig, 624 Royal Street, New Orleans, now part of the furnishings at the Louisiana State Museum’s 1850 House.
