Nicolaas (Niek) Van Der Plas (Dutch, b. 1954), "Two Girls on the Beach", oil on panel, signed lower right, 13in. x 17in. E1200-1800 Note: This Dutch artist is nationally and internationally known for his panoramas of the Dutch landscape. Working and living in Katwijk aan Zee, a North Sea coastal village, it is no surprise that the artist has found a particular interest in portraying enduring images of children and their families enjoying a leisurely day at the beach. His impressionistic style influenced by The Hague School, but combined with a lighter palette, is fully equipped to capture a typical Dutch summer day References: Drs. H.
