Perkins Harnly (American/California, 1901-1986, active New Orleans, 1930-1931), two watercolors on paper including "Jayne Mansfield's Bedroom, 1943: Prior to her decorating her bedroom in pink fur...walls, floors, ceiling...and including the furniture", unsigned, 23 in. x 29 in.; and "The Chapter House (The Clerics' Hideaway): The bishop's bordello, or private harem; the cherubinos are the girls' pets; the cat is contemplating his breakfast. The couch belonged to Rudolf Valentino; the stove is to keep the girls warm; the rocking chair with a hole in the seat is an ecclesiastical bidet, to save the girls from leaving the room between numbers", 1972, unsigned, inscribed "The Chapter House" en verso, 21 7/8 in. x 30 1/4 in., both unframed.
