Peter Joseph Lawrence Mars (American-New Orleans, 1874-1949), 'Louisiana Bayou', oil on canvas, signed lower right, 13 in. x 10 in. in a period frame. E400-600 Note: Born in Houma, Louisiana, Peter Mars was a painter, sculptor and art teacher. In 1893, Mars moved to New Orleans and opened a studio. He was an instructor at the Delgado Center Trades School and exhibited at the Arts and Crafts Club and New Orleans Art League. Ref: John Mahe, ed.
