Probably Claude-Henri Watelet (French, 1718-1786), after Rembrandt van Rijn, "A Sleeping Puppy" (after original of 1639-1640), etching with drypoint, Bartsch 158, posthumous state, the plate evidently retouched by Watelet, and this impression on paper bearing a late 18th c. French watermark, sheet size 4 1/2 in. x 6 in., image size 1 1/2 in. x 3 3/16 in. (3.8 cm. x 8.1 cm.), after a drawing of c. 1637-1640 in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, in a burnished giltwood frame. References: Hollstein (White and Boon), 197; G. W.
