Co., Chicopee, Mass, dated 1852 on ricasso, etched blade showing fouled anchor, trophy of arms, resplendent eagle on deck gun, the fire-gilt guard displaying the earliest characteristics, shark-skin grip with intact gilded wire, leather scabbard with fire-gilt mounts, one marked by Ames, the accompanying fine belt with fire-gilt buckle.
