Ray Boynton (American/Hawaii, 1883-1951), 'Hawaii', watercolor on paper, signed lower right, titled lower left, sight 11.375in x 8.5in E1000-1500 Note: California artist Ray Boynton worked as a muralist for the Works Progress Administration during the Depression, creating twelve lunettes for the Modesto Post Office and Colt Tower Born in the Midwest and educated in Chicago, Boynton moved to San Francisco in 1915 There he taught at the California School of Fine Arts and University of California This colorful watercolor of 'Hawaii' was evidently painted during a trip to the islands.
