A Fine Regency Carved Mahogany Gueridon, early 19th c., in the manner of Thomas Hope, circular top, bracketed frieze, turned tapered columnar supports, incurvate triangular beaded plinth, outswept scrolled brass feet, height 29 in., diameter 19 1/4 in Note: This sophisticated gueridon incorporates elements from Thomas Hope's opus Househod Furniture of 1807. The three twist supports are similar to the standards of a candle stand (pl. L, no. 2) and the out swept plinth incorporates one of the most noted of Hope's table designs, pl. XXXIX.
