Description:

Robert Gordy (American/Louisiana, 1933-1986), "The Green Nile", pentel and marker ink on paper, signed and dated "'67", 21 in. x 15 3/4 in.

  • Notes: Note: "The Green Nile" drawing was executed as a study for the painting in the preceding lot and illustrates Gordy's development and refinement of his paintings through drawings. The artwork demonstrates the artist's affinity for commercial markers in combination with colored pencil when creating his drawings. Gordy's foresight and mastery of design allowed him to transcend size and produce the same image in several dimensions.
