Robert Wadsworth Grafton (American, 1876-1936, active New Orleans 1916-1920), "Woman Reading in a Dutch Interior", oil on canvas, unsigned, 24 in. x 18.5in., in period carved giltwood frame. E10000/15000 Provenance: Estate of Robert W. Grafton. Note: Robert Grafton used his wife Elinda as a model for the woman dressed in Dutch costume. The Grafton family lived in the Netherlands, where Robert did a series of interiors and scenic views of the area. The wooden clogs and copper and brass ember pot at her feet are still in the collection of the Grafton family.
